What is mindfulness ?

Put simply, mindfulness encourages us to bring awareness to what we’re sensing and feeling in the moment, without judgement. But the bigger question is, why is that so important?

Well, every day we are prone to ruminating thoughts and catastrophising about the future, which can trigger stress and anxiety. And it's these potentially damaging thoughts that can easily spiral out of control. Yet by expertly engaging moments of self-awareness, we can break this cycle and learn to manage our stress levels.


It's not as easy as that may sound, of course. Having a busy and overactive mind is a little like being rooted in quicksand; the more you over-think and strive to problem solve, the more you get stuck. But with time, and training, you can learn to free yourself.

 

Solutions are found through mindfulness meditation, and by bringing informal mindfulness (that is, moment-to-moment awareness) into our daily lives. The methods we teach are scientifically proven to relieve stress, aid sleep, encourage relaxation and improve overall mental health and wellbeing.
